MY Weekly Update

Heyyyy!! So today is Thursday, I had a few leads that didn't go through as planned but I was able to get 4 new points on yesterday by simply asking two of my friends to participate in a free trial for my ID Guard product. Representatives, this company really wants us to succeed within the organization! They are offering double points when you have someone sign-up for the free trial. Now what is ID Guard? ID Guard is a product that I offer to customers that are interested in protecting themselves from identity theft. Now why would you purchase this product? With identity theft being so common today, it's a good precaution. I have this product myself and I'm looking forward to supplying my customers with it. My team is in the process of expanding! I would like to congratulate Ms. Pearline Johnson, in Jonestown, MS for taking a step in changing her financial future. I have a lot of family from Jonestown, so it was a great experience working and meeting with people from there. During my PBR, I could feel the excitement in the room! Those people are motivated and excited to put Jonestown on the map! I would like to congratulate my mother, Jerri, for changing another life this week!! When I say I'm motivated and ready to see what God does to this business, I mean it! Have you ever been apart of something you just knew was god? Well, I am! I look at the things that I can do with this company and I just fill like screaming to the top of my lungs! I am so happy that I stepped out on faith and invested in this business. I am always here to help anyone that is interested in becoming a part of my team. Send all inquiries to melaniegilbert@5linx.net and let's set some things up.

Blessings In Diguise

Hello my supporters!! Whew this week has been a hard one for me. So I was on the social networking site called Instagram on Monday, I believe, and came across a picture of Johnathan Christian Berry. Johnathan just turned two on March 4, and suffers from brain damage and leukemia. When I first came across his picture I immediately clicked on hi smother's profile because I wanted to know what had happened to this sweet little boy. His mother has documented everything that is going on with him on her instaagram page (kinkybabe). I think the thing that hurts the most is knowing that there is a cure for his cancer but he can not receive it because of the brain damage. According to his mother, he stopped breathing at the hospital one day and his nurse, for whatever reason, was not around to immediately attend to him. As a result, 75% of his brain is damaged. This hurts my heart. Yes, I know that cancer exists. Yes, I have lost family members to cancer. Yes, I know people that are battling cancer right now. So, why am I so moved by this story you ask? I am asking myself the same thing. I am asking why Magic Johnson has lived for so long with AIDS and this baby has been sent home to die at two years old. The fact of the matter is Magic has more money and resources than Jonathan's mother. Can the community come together to help in his fight? I have read that there are some cases where children have beat the odds and repaired from brain damage. I have cried and cried for this little boy since I first laid eyes on him. I believe that God placed his story in my life for a reason. I have continued and will continue to pray for #JONJON's health and strength. I look at his mother and I ask myself, "How does she do it?" To see your son go from an active one year old to a totally different child in less than a years time is enough to drive you crazy. His mother is so strong. In fact, I believe we are the same age. This woman tries to keep a smile on her face and trust and believe that God is going to have the final say in her son's life. I can truly say that the two of them have made me look back over my life and re-evaluate some things. With this business one of the WHY's that we speak about during our presentations is donating to charity. I always looked at that and dismissed it. I was in the mindset that I need to help myself, forget donating to anyone else. Isn't that crazy? Well #JONJON has completely changed my mind on that! I plan to share some of my blessing with ST.Jude Research Hospital here in Memphis, TN. I sit around and wonder why little Johnathan wasn't sent to St. Jude? I wonder why he left unattended that day in the hospital? Why him? Then I sit and think of all the parents and family members of children going through the same things as Johnathan and they are asking the same questions. I've found myself praying so hard this week. I have wanted to ask God why? Why do we have things like this in the world? Most importantly, why do cancers have to do children this way? The only thing I've been able to come up with i that God has a plan for each and every one of our lives. We may not like the plan he has for us, but he has a reason. I pray that God restores this little boy. I pray that every ounce of cancer is removed from his body. I pray that every damaged cell in his brain is restored in Jesus name. I just want to be a vessel for this baby. I want to bring awareness to what happens in hospitals. The doctor's and nurses in these hospitals are humans too, but there needs to be more oversight. People's lives should not be altered when they are supposed to be under a doctor's watch. just thought I'd share the impact this little boy has had on my life. I wish I had the funds to change this situation for little #JonJon. Someone out there does and can help his mother get him better treatment. If you read this and that person is you, please get in contact with his mother. The devil is a lie!

It's Looking Like A Good Week

Heyyyyyyyy!!! So I'm just checking in with you all! I have a business meeting tonight with a prospective customer! I'm so excited guys! I can't explain the feelings I have right now. I feel like God sent 5Linx to me. I like to tell people that my life changed on March 1, 2013. On this day I made the decision to invest into my financial future. I made the decision to own my own business and be my own boss! It took me about two weeks to understand what God had placed in front of me. I have the opportunity to change not only my financial future but the financial future of my family and friends as well! I am excited and I am claiming that this will be a great week! I am being very proactive with my time. In this business you have to be sure to always network. I find myself telling anyone that will listen about this opportunity. #SVPINAYEAR #TEAMMELANIE

This is My Story

Growing up in America we are always taught to work on a dream that is usually not our own. We are taught as children to pursue the “American Dream.” What is the American Dream? Is it to get married, have children, and have a good paying job? Is it wealth and no happiness? When pursuing the American Dream we must remember that not everyone’s path will be the same. No person in this country will go down a path that is exactly the same simply because of the different opportunities and environments of each person. I grew up in a middle class home where my mother was a teacher. My mother made sure I finished school in the top 10% of my class and I had several scholarships to different colleges. One would think that I was building on my “American Dream.” Well life called and told me that it had different plans for me. I had a daughter at 18 and ended up staying in Memphis to attend the University of Memphis. Eight years, three jobs, several prayers and tears later I was still working on my Bachelors Degree and wondering where my “American Dream” was hidden. I know you’ve been where I was. You’re living paycheck to paycheck. You get a raise at your job and a new bill all at once. You’re left asking how can I take my children here or there on the money I’m making? You wake up everyday going through your shoulda, coulda, wouldas, just wishing you could go back in time to make a few changes to your life. Let me tell you something, going back in time and changing one small piece of your life could alter one big piece of your life today. It’s not worth the risk. You should not focus on the past, instead, you should focus on changing your future. Work on your now! How can you work on your now? Ask yourself one question for me, WHY (what’s hurting you?) do you want to change your financial future? Do you want to increase your income? Would you like to travel more? Or are you like me and you’re just tired of living someone else’s dream and would like to focus on your own? Well if you can answer yes to any of those questions then I can help. Last month I was going through my usual routine of questioning the whole “American Dream” idea and was presented with an opportunity to make some extra money. At first, I was hesitant. I came up with every excuse in the book to turn this opportunity down. Then I wrote down my WHY. I looked at my WHY over and over and determined that my WHY meant more to me than any other thing in this world. I was intrigued at the thought of owning my own business with little start up money. I was excited to learn that I could be my own boss. I never would have thought I’d have a business in the VoIP telecom business in the direct sales industry. I wake up everyday to help others that are stuck, just like I was, change their lives. I am helping families create residual incomes that their children will one day live off of. I am helping Pastors retain their members, grow their congregation, and build revenue for their ministries. Small business owners have the opportunity to stay connected with their customers through my company. They also have the opportunity to save money and help in the fight against Breast Cancer the merchant processing services through my company as well. Through 5Linx I am able to truly say that I am impacting and changing lives. My “American Dream” is finally starting to become a reality. This can be you!
